Join KAI LIN ART as we host the 8th Open Call for our annual juried works on paper exhibition: THE NEW SOUTH 8. This year’s exhibition encompasses a range of themes, styles and techniques celebrating the largely versatile medium of paper.
The exhibition is open to both emerging and established artists who have lived or worked in the Southeast. Please submit your artwork and application form before midnight on Friday, December 11th
JUROR
Caitlin Metzel
Creative Director, Hirsch Bedner & Associates
Caitlin Metzel is a Creative Director with HBA Art, the art consultancy of Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA), the global hospitality design firm. She develops art programs for hospitality projects, curating collections that draw on leading artists and artisans and reflect the character of each property.
Her path to the role began in galleries. After studying art history at Valdosta State University, Caitlin managed several acclaimed galleries and built lasting relationships with artists nationwide. She went on to serve as senior art consultant and lead frame designer for one of the largest art publishing houses in the United States, placing work in residential, corporate, hospitality, multifamily, and senior living projects. She joined HBA Art as an Art Consultant in Atlanta and has since been promoted to Creative Director.
ENTRY CRITERIA
• All artwork must include paper in some form and be created by the artist within the last 5 years.
• Artists under the age of 18 must have signed parental consent.
• Artwork must not exceed 40 inches in any direction.
• Submitting artists must have lived or worked in the Southeastern Region, USA.
• Artists may submit up to five (5) images for the $30 application fee
• Printed Photography is accepted
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
• All submissions must be made online per instruction on kailinart.com/thenewsouth on or before
FRIDAY, DECEMBER 11, 2025 before 11:59 PM
• Images must be high quality JPEG format between 1MB – 2MB, 300DPI, 1,500 pixels wide.
• Title images, “ARTIST LAST NAME_FIRST NAME_TITLE_MEDIUM_DIMENSIONS (inches)”.
