Kai Lin Art's First Annual Juried Printmaking Exhibition

For the past ten years, Kai Lin Art has celebrated the art of printmaking through group and curated exhibitions that spotlight the medium's remarkable range — from relief and intaglio to lithography, screenprint, and monotype. Now, we're marking this milestone by launching our first-ever open call for a juried printmaking show: PULLING PRINTS.

This inaugural exhibition brings together contemporary artists from across the Southeast and beyond to celebrate printmaking in all its technical and conceptual diversity. We welcome submissions across all printmaking processes — traditional and experimental alike — from artists at any stage of their career, emerging or established.

About Kai Lin Art + Annex

For 18 years, Kai Lin Art has been a home for contemporary art in Atlanta — a place where artists are discovered, collectors find their next great acquisition, and the city's creative community gathers. Since founder Yu-Kai Lin opened the gallery's doors in 2008, Kai Lin Art has built a reputation for thoughtful curation, artist-first programming, and an unwavering commitment to the craft of exhibition-making.

Now, nearly two decades in, Kai Lin Art is entering an exciting new chapter: the opening of Kai Lin Art Annex, a major expansion into a new event and exhibition space in West Midtown Atlanta.

The Annex represents a natural evolution — more room for ambitious exhibitions, large-scale installations, juried shows, and community events, alongside the gallery's continued programming at its original location. It's a space built to match the scale of what Atlanta's artists are creating, and to deepen Kai Lin Art's role as a cultural anchor in the city's growing arts district.

Eighteen years of exhibitions, discoveries, and relationships built one show at a time — and now, an entirely new space to carry that legacy forward.

Open to emerging and established printmakers working in any printmaking technique. Please submit your artwork and application before the deadline:

Todd Anderson

About the Juror

This year's juror is Todd Anderson, a master printer and studio artist whose career bridges fine art practice, collaborative printmaking, and academia. Anderson holds a BFA from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and an MFA from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. He apprenticed for several years at Tandem Press, ultimately becoming a fine art collaborative master printer — training that shapes his deep, technical fluency across printmaking disciplines. Today, Anderson maintains an active studio practice alongside his role at Clemson University, where he teaches interdisciplinary courses exploring the intersections of art, rhetoric, and the climate crisis.

Anderson's work is held in the colldections of roughly 35 notable institutions, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Afriterra Library, the Davis Museum at Wellesley College, the Jordan Schnitzer Family Foundation, the Asheville Art Museum, the Nevada Museum of Art, the New York Public Library, Stanford and Yale Universities, and the U.S. Library of Congress. His artwork has been exhibited approximately 150 times nationally and internationally, at venues including Art Basel Miami, the New York Affordable Art Fair, Scope London, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

ENTRY CRITERIA 

All artwork must be created with a printmaking process and be created by the artist within the last 3 years.

• Open to artists age 18 and up.

• Artwork must not exceed 40 inches in either direction.

• Artists may submit up to four (4) pieces for the $30 application fee.

• All artwork must be WORKS FOR SALE.

• We reserve the right to disqualify any work that does not accurately represent the original submission images.

All submissions must be made online per instruction on kailinart.com/pullingprints on or before
September 25th, 2026 before 11:59 PM

Image Requirements To ensure accurate jurying of work, images must be high-quality, well-lit, and presented against a neutral background. Each submission must include an Artist Bio (100–300 words) and an Artist Statement (100–300 words).

• Images must be high quality JPEG format between 1MB – 2MB, 300DPI, 1,500 pixels wide.

• Title images:  ARTIST LAST NAME_FIRST NAME_TITLE_MEDIUM_DIMENSIONS (inches)”
  

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Scope & Style: All styles are welcome.

Originality and Rights: Artworks must be entirely the original work of the entrant, executed without the supervision of an instructor. Entries must not be copies or derivatives based on copyrighted or published paintings, photographs, or other artistic works not owned by the artist.

Terms & Disqualification

Accuracy: Please ensure your photos are high-quality and color-accurate. Any work delivered that deviates significantly from the submitted images will be disqualified. Acceptance is conditional upon the physical work matching the digital preview.

Durability: Please do not submit any artwork that is too fragile to ship or that requires complex assembly. Work must be exhibition-ready upon arrival.

Completeness: Incomplete applications will not be considered. Ensure all images and required fields are uploaded before submitting.

Content & Conduct: The organizer reserves the right to disqualify any entry featuring content deemed offensive or hateful at their sole discretion.

Authority: The decision of the juror is final.

Sales & Commission: ALL WORK MUST BE FOR SALE! The gallery will retain a 50% commission on the retail price of any work sold during the exhibition. The remaining 50% will be paid to the artist.
