Join KAI LIN ART as we host our very first rendition of our 3rd Open Call for the year, a juried show of figurative works featuring the human form: PHYSIQUE.
This inaugural showcase brings together contemporary artists from across the Southeast and beyond, highlighting the the Human Form in anatomy, posture, poise, and beauty.
PHYSIQUE, celebrates a diverse range of themes, styles, and techniques—each work offering a unique perspective on form, material, and meaning. Encompassing the figure, minimal to intricate, the exhibition underscores the enduring power of the figure to transform space and perception.
The competition is open to both emerging and established artists who work with the Human Form. Please submit your artwork and application form before the June 19th, 2026 deadline to be considered.
JUROR
Luke Hamilton
Currently residing in Alpharetta GA, Adjunct Professor at Georgia State University, Luke Hamilton holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Illustration from the Savannah College of Art and Design (Savannah, GA). He’s gained professional experience in art framing, large format printing, being a gallerist and instructional art education. Near the time of completion of his master’s degree at SCAD, he was a co-founder and curator of the Red Kite Studio in Savannah, GA, where he co-hosted several art shows and openings. He uses this past experience as a gallery associate at Kai Lin Art in West Midtown Atlanta, where he has been a vital part of the galleries’ prosperity, co-hosting shows, cataloging inventory, updating the website and many other daily duties.
For the past decade and a half Luke has also worked in graphic design, production, and installation, using multiple print applications at large format printing companies. He is a published free-lance illustrator with several clients including many advertising agencies within the Atlanta area. He is currently a member of the Sketch Atlanta Figure Drawing group and has co-hosted live figure drawing sessions at Hunter Studios in Marietta, GA. He has been participating in life drawing groups from the time of his graduation in 2007.
Since 2007, Luke has been creating commissioned art pieces as well as self published work through his own self proprietorship of Three Crows Illustration. His work reflects his love of figurative illustration, featuring beautifully rendered figures in a mix of different poses and scenarios. His work has consisted of portraits of people and pets, fantasy illustration, figurative life drawing, and graphic design.
ENTRY CRITERIA
All artwork must be figurative focusing on the human body in some form and be created by the artist within the last 3 years.
Open to artists age 18 and up.
Artwork must not exceed 40 inches in any direction. Stand-alone objects may not stand more than 60 inches tall by 40 inches wide
Please note how your work is presented. (Wall hung, Ceiling hung, Pedestal, Floor, etc.)
Artwork may be 2 or 3-Dimensional.
Artists may submit up to three (3) pieces for the $30 application fee.
All artwork must be WORKS FOR SALE.
We reserve the right to disqualify any work that does not accurately represent the original submission images.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Image Requirements To ensure a fair and thorough jury process, each 3-Dimensional entry must include at least two images. Because we are evaluating 3D work "in the round," these views are mandatory:
For Sculptural Work: Provide a primary front view and a clear view of the back.
For Wall-Hanging Work: Provide one full-frame view and one close-up detail shot.
To ensure accurate jurying of work, images must be high-quality, well-lit, and presented against a neutral background. Each submission must include an Artist Bio (100–300 words) and an Artist Statement (100–300 words).
Images must be high quality JPEG format between 1MB – 2MB, 300DPI, 1,500 pixels wide.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Scope & Style: All styles are welcome—Conceptual, Figurative, Contemporary, Modern, Surrealism, Minimalism, and beyond as long as the work contains the human body.
Originality and Rights: Artworks must be entirely the original work of the entrant, executed without the supervision of an instructor. Entries must not be copies or derivatives based on copyrighted or published paintings, photographs, or other artistic works not owned by the artist.
Terms & Disqualification
Accuracy: Please ensure your photos are high-quality and color-accurate. Any work delivered that deviates significantly from the submitted images will be disqualified. Acceptance is conditional upon the physical work matching the digital preview.
Durability: Please do not submit any artwork that is too fragile to ship or that requires complex assembly. Work must be exhibition-ready upon arrival.
Completeness: Incomplete applications will not be considered. Ensure all images and required fields are uploaded before submitting.
Content & Conduct: The organizer reserves the right to disqualify any entry featuring content deemed offensive or hateful at their sole discretion.
Authority: The decision of the juror is final.
Sales & Commission: ALL WORK MUST BE FOR SALE! The gallery will retain a 50% commission on the retail price of any work sold during the exhibition. The remaining 50% will be paid to the artist.
