The Art of Lucha Rodriguez

KNIFE DRAWINGS

For this body of work I wanted to challenge the viewer to take a second look at something that from a far seems simple and trivial but on a closer look it surprises them with intimate detail and complexity, not by adding to it but highlighting with textures and shades what was already there. These knife drawings are meant to represent the union between precision and intuition; organic and geometric; simplicity and complexity. It encourages them to know the work not by their first impressions but by taking a long hard look at what’s really inside.
