BRITT BASS

Untitled 48 x 60 inches Acrylic on canvas BBA 001-G

Britt Bass grew up in a suburb outside Atlanta where she fell in love with color and design at a young age. She always knew she wanted to create things. Her mother has worked in the industry her whole life from running her own sewing workroom, to faux painting and interior design. She was so fortunate to have such a creative influence: all of that exposure to color and texture helped her fall in love with ‘making’ early on.

Bass graduated from the Lamar Dodd School of Art at the University of Georgia in May of 2011 with a degree in Art Education with an emphasis on painting. She is currently back in Atlanta with a studio at the Goat Farm, painting and making installations full time.

Her work is about process and intuition. She is interested in the juxtaposition of medium, texture, color, and shape, searching for ways to create subtleties and surprises through fine details and passageways. Through layering, adding and omitting her work explores this artistic relationship until it culminates into a whole, finished creation.
