Solongo Monkhooroi was born in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. After graduating from The Institute of Fine Art with a BFA in Traditional Mongolian Painting, Solongo moved to the United States to pursue her career as an illustrator and attended the Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta, GA.
Solongo enjoys illustrating in fantastical settings, inspired by folk tales and imagination. Her work is whimsical, strongly influenced by both Tibetan and Mongolian art. Solongo’s focus is to develop her personal visual signature by integrating Mongolian traditional art and Western popular culture using traditional media and contemporary techniques.
Solongo has numerous paintings and illustrations in private and permanent collections in Japan, Canada and the United States including the Savannah College of Art and Design.
