My art mirrors the effect of globalization in cultural identities, how in actual times traditions and origins have become hybrids as an effect of the massive intervention that arrives daily in the media. My intention is to make the viewer question the effects of this in the roots of a country, of a culture or an individual.
My work is based on the struggle between tradition and globalization, crafts and academic art, and nature vs. industrialization. I work in different media: mostly paintings in acrylic that could could be described as satiric illustrations; but I also have worked in ceramic, engraving and traditional weaving, based on research of foreign cultural expressions.
